Yapahuwa

One of the brief capitals of mediaeval Sri Lanka was Yapahuwa. Yapahuwa’s castle was constructed around a massive granite boulder that rose above the nearby plains. With the Sacred Tooth Relic in tow, King Bhuvenakabahu moved the capital from Polonnaruwa to Yapahuwa in 1272.

Subsequently, Yapahuwa was mostly deserted and occupied by ascetic Buddhist monks.

Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park is located in the north-central province of Sri Lanka. This region was designated as protected territory primarily owing to the native wildlife and the catchment area for the Minneriya tank.

The tank’s construction in the third century AD is what gives it its historical significance. During the dry season, the park provides food for the elephant population that inhabits the wooded areas of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee. Additionally, it is acknowledged as a key bird-nesting location.

Proceed to Ritigala.

Ritigala

Located atop a mountain in central Sri Lanka is an old Buddhist monastery called Ritigala. The monastery’s remains and rock inscriptions date to the first century BC. The distance between it and the historic monastic city of Anuradhapura is 43 km.

Hiriwadunna

An opportunity to explore and understand Sri Lanka’s rich culture and way of life. You reach the rural community by ferry boat and bullock cart. The village cottages are accessible only by crossing the paddy fields and vegetable gardens. Interact with the locals and experience Sri Lankan hospitality while relaxing and savouring a scrumptious Sri Lankan meal. The excursion will end with a Tuk-Tuk ride.

Proceed to Dambulla.

Dambulla

Built around a sizable granite outcrop, Dambulla is a world heritage site that hides an amazing first-century BC Buddhist cave complex. It is Sri Lanka’s largest and best-preserved complex of cave temples.

The murals, which occupy 2,100 square metres, feature images of Buddha being tempted by the demon Mara.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

The breathtaking rock castle known as Sigiriya is one of Sri Lanka’s most visited tourist destinations.
The fortress is where “King Kasyapa” murdered his father and seized the throne from his elder brother. On top of this 180-metre-tall rock, Kasyapa built his stronghold as a defence.

Today, Sigiriya is well-known for its “Mirror Wall,” which features lyrics and passages engraved by previous visitors, as well as its breathtaking murals depicting vibrantly coloured, form-fitting bejewelled maidens and a water garden. It adds to another UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka.

Proceed to Matale.

Matale

Spice gardens offer travellers a window into the centuries-old business of producing spices, as well as overwhelming aroma of cinnamon, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, and mace.

Udawattakele Forest Reserve

The 104-hectare Udawattakele Forest Reserve is located in the city of Kandy on a hilltop. The sanctuary is well-known for having a wide variety of birds. A range of plant species, including lianas, shrubs, and tiny trees, can be found in the reserve. This is where one can witness a large number of Sri Lanka’s small and medium-sized mammals.

Proceed to Kandy.

Kandy

Some of the most important historical landmarks in Sri Lanka can be found in the town of Kandy, which is located in the country’s central hills.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Buddha must be explored in order for a trip to Kandy to be considered complete.

One example of a building that links the Royal Palace and the Temple of the Tooth Relic is the colossal ensemble of Kandy. It was one of several temples constructed to contain the relic. Even though guests cannot view the tooth itself, the temple and its environs are incredibly beautiful.

In addition, Kandy is well known for the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and the magnificent Kandy Esala Perahera, which features a procession of vibrant
dancers and elephants.

The booking process will begin only after 50% payment of the total invoice value.
A payment of 100% is to be settled 90 days prior to the date of arrival.
Any amendments (to the agreed-upon tour) within 45 days of the arrival date are chargeable.
The customer shall pay all bank charges in the case of a bank transfer.
There will be no additional postage fees or booking fees.
Cancellation charges of 100% will be applicable 45 days prior to the arrival date.
If your behaviour could cause danger, damage, or a persistent offence, you will be informed of the fact, and your holiday may be terminated without compensation. This is for the safety and benefit of fellow travellers. You may also be held responsible for willful damage.
Any complaints must be pursued as soon as possible with the supplier of the service (e.g., the hotel manager) or our local representative (if present), and if matters are not satisfactorily resolved, you must notify the company within 24 hours, by e-mail, in a further effort to rectify the situation amicably.
